Better late than never?

Islam also promotes the concept "Better late than never".

If we arrive at the mosque while iqamah is called, the Prophet p.b.u.h. told us not to hasten or run to catch up with the imam. But we have to remain calm and serene. What we get, we do. What we miss, we complete. (Bukhari #636 & Muslim #602)

And even if someone comes to the mosque and finds that the congregational prayer has ended, he will still get the reward for solat jemaah.

Also, Islam does not put a limit to seeking knowledge. No matter how old you are, it's never too late to sit and gain knowledge or improve your Quran recitation.

Those who are fluent in reciting the Quran will receive one reward. But those who aren't, will receive two rewards; another one for merely putting an effort.

There's no end to struggling for your worldly needs too. In a hadis, it is said that should the Day of Judgment arrive tomorrow and one of you had a seed in his hand, plant it.

See, it's never too late to do everything. The key is to try. You will not be rewarded for the results, but certainly for your effort.
